Leuchtturm1917 was founded in Hamburg in 1917 and launched as a notebook brand in 2005 — built around a single idea: that writing by hand clarifies thought. The name means lighthouse in German, a fitting metaphor for a brand that helps people navigate and organize their thinking on paper.

Every notebook ships with numbered pages, a pre-printed table of contents, two ribbon markers, an expandable back pocket, and archival spine labels — a built-in organizational system rather than just blank paper. The thread-bound binding opens completely flat at 180°, and the 80 g/m2 ink-proof paper handles fountain pens and fineliners without feathering or bleed-through.
