The Clairefontaine Brown Kraft A3 Sketch Pad puts 50 sheets of unbleached long-fiber kraft paper in a spacious A3 format. The warm brown tone acts as a pre-established mid-tone — black charcoal and dark graphite drop into deep shadows while white chalk, gel pen, or pastel highlights pop immediately against the natural background, without needing to lay down a base layer first. The ribbed laid texture (vergetures) grips dry media well and adds subtle organic character to finished work.

At 90 g/m2 the paper is lightweight but durable thanks to its unbleached long-fiber construction — it handles heavy shading, repeated erasing, and layered dry media without tearing or pilling. Not suited for wet media like watercolor or heavy ink washes. Top-glued binding allows clean sheet removal without damaging adjacent pages. PEFC certified, chlorine-free, and fully biodegradable.
