The Sakura Koi Colorless Blender doesn't add any color of its own — it's filled with a clear, solvent-free fluid built to move and soften ink that's already on the page. There are two ways to use it: rub the clear tip against a colored Koi pen's tip for a second or two to pick up some pigment, then apply it like a lighter version of that color to fade an edge or build a transition; or run the blender directly along a dry, colored area to lift and soften it into a lighter wash without picking up color first.

Either way, it lifts and spreads existing pigment rather than mixing in new color, so it won't muddy or gray out the tones it touches the way blending with a wrong-colored marker can. If the tip picks up too much pigment from repeated use, scribbling it on scrap paper restores it to a clear, usable point.
