The Talens 061 is built to lock loose pastel, soft chalk, and graphite dust onto paper or canvas without changing the color or texture of the pigment underneath it — a real distinction from fixatives that darken or saturate what they're sprayed on. It's also workable, meaning you can mist a layer, let it dry, and keep drawing on top without disturbing what's already fixed. One specific use worth knowing: it clears "blooming," the cloudy white wax veil that builds up on heavy colored pencil work over time.

This comes as a liquid concentrate rather than a ready-to-spray aerosol — you apply it with a mouth atomizer (such as the Talens Fixative Atomizer No. 1003) or an airbrush, holding it about 40 cm from the surface. At 1000 ml, it's sized for a working studio going through fixative regularly rather than occasional use.
