This is a heavyweight 250 gsm Bristol pad built for marker and fineliner work specifically — the surface is compressed smooth enough that fluid brush tips glide across it without fraying or catching, which matters since textured paper tends to wear down a soft brush nib over time. The high density also keeps ink from bleeding, feathering, or pooling, and stops marker ink from showing through to the back of the sheet even with heavier double-sided work.

It's still solid enough to take graphite guidelines and erase them cleanly afterward without scuffing the surface or piling the fibers, which is useful if you sketch before inking. The paper is acid-free, so color stays true rather than yellowing or fading over years of storage.
