The Kuru Toga in blue uses a 0.7 mm lead, suited to writers who prefer a bolder line or tend to press harder while writing. Thicker leads like this normally flatten out into a blunt edge fairly quickly, causing smudgy, blurred text — this pencil avoids that with an internal gear that rotates the lead by about 9° with every lift, keeping the tip a clean, rounded cone even at this thicker gauge. That gives the strength of a bold lead without losing the sharp line definition a finer pencil would normally hold onto.

A small eraser sits under the top push-cap, and the lower grip is transparent, showing the gear mechanism turning as you write.
