The Uni Pin brush pen uses a flexible synthetic fiber tip rather than a fixed-width fineliner nib, so the line varies with pressure — push down for a broader fill or medium-width script, lift up for a fine detail line, all from one pen. That range makes it suited to expressive hand-lettering and brush-style titles rather than the consistent monoline a technical fineliner produces.

The ink is uni-ball's archival "Super Ink," a water-based pigment formula that bonds into the paper fibers rather than sitting on the surface. Once it's dry, it's waterproof, fade-resistant, and lightfast, which means watercolor washes, dye markers, or gouache can be brushed directly over finished line-art without the ink underneath smearing, bleeding, or lifting into the new color.
