The Sakura Sumo Grip 0.7 mm mechanical pencil has a wide triangular barrel wrapped in a soft rubber cushion grip, spreading out the pressure your hand would otherwise put into gripping a thin, round pencil tightly. That makes it a comfortable option both for younger students still building up grip control and for adults doing long stretches of paperwork or note-taking.

The 0.7 mm lead is thicker than the more fragile 0.5 mm size, so it holds up better to pressing down hard while writing or sketching, and the barrel is tinted clear-gray so you can keep an eye on how much lead is left. The tip is a retractable metal sleeve that protects it when not in use, and it's finished with a jumbo twist-up eraser for corrections. For finer, more precise lines, the Sakura Sumo Grip 0.5 mm uses the same ergonomic barrel with a thinner lead.
